Wardown Park Visit
Year 1 have been learning about plants in Science. They have been finding out about wild flowers, deciduous and evergreen trees and have been growing their own sunflower. Year 1 children walked to nearby Wardown Park to go on a tree and flower hunt. They identified lots of the trees by looking carefully at the leaves. They then learned how to measure how tall a tree is by looking through their legs. Finally they used measuring tapes to measure around the trees trunk to estimate how old the trees are.
