Year 1 and Year R enjoyed hearing stories from different cultures being read to them by different teachers every day. Year 2 had a great National Storytelling week! Using the story ‘Our Tower’ by Joseph Coelho for inspiration, we set off with our magic stones (gifted to us from the magical tree man) and went in search of magical entrances to mysterious worlds on our playground. We created freeze frames to capture our emotions and acted out how we would enter our magical worlds. After that we used our senses to explore what we could see, hear, smell, taste and feel. Can you see some of our creative art work showing the new lands we went to? At the end of the week we had written our very own poems and stories and we had so much fun! We also took part in a live writing workshop with Joseph Coelho which was really inspiring. Our writing is going to be sent off and if we are lucky we might get chosen and published in the Amazon National Storytelling week anthology!
