The Way Back Home
The children in Year 1 have been learning a new story called 'The Way Back Home' by Oliver Jeffers. In the story a boy finds a plane in the cupboard and goes on an adventure up into the sky. Suddenly the plane's engine splutters and he lands on the moon. The children have been planning and writing different ways the boy could get home safely. To introduce this story, the children learned the model text with actions and we created paper airplanes which we enjoyed playing with outside.
