It has been a pleasure to welcome parents back into school this week to help us learn about and celebrate the festival of Diwali. Children in Reception created lots of beautiful crafts based on fireworks because Diwali is the festival of light. Key Stage 1 children made Diya lamps and Rangoli patterns and focussed their learning around the story of Rama and Sita.
At William Austin Infant School we feel it is important to celebrate all festivals from all the religions within our school community. Children are given the opportunity to learn about celebrations and festivals from different faiths and make links to their own religions and beliefs. We would like to thank all the parents that were able to come to school to help share this experience with their children.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
