Year 2 Art
In Art Year 2 have been learning about hot and cold colours. Children looked at famous paintings that used hot and cold colours like Van Gogh’s Starry Night and shared their opinions and feelings. Children then explored hot and cold colours using different media such as crayons, felt tips, colouring pencils and paint, making different marks in a rainbow. We then looked at Pop Art and the famous portrait prints that Andy Warhol created. Children took a portrait photo, traced over it four times in black marker and used their knowledge of hot and cold colours and different media to create their own portraits in the style of Andy Warhol.
