Carnival Arts Project
On Wednesday 7 November, a group of our Year 2 pupils visited Luton Carnival Arts Centre to take part in a collaborative workshop with 8 other local schools. The workshop was entitled ‘Celebrating Together’ and the focus of the workshop was to work in unity with other children from different communities and backgrounds. The children enjoyed trying on various Carnival costumes and creating a story based around their costume theme which they presented to their new friends. In the afternoon, the children had the opportunity to create their own ‘headdress’ which practised their cutting and design skills. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and their behaviour was exemplary.
The children showed many of the Values we learn in school and made lots of new friends during the course of the day.
