World Book 2024!
World Book Day
World Book Day 2024 was a huge success and was a celebration of our school’s Reading Culture. Children dressed up or brought in a prop from a book that they wanted to recommend to their friends. See who you can spot in some of the photos!
This year’s focus was ‘Read Your Way’. This fits perfectly with our reading aims allowing children to read was they enjoy and to help us deepen our understanding of our children as readers. In the World Book Day Quiz children each received a new graphic novel or dinosaur themed book for their class book corner.
In the afternoon we invited parents to join in the fun. In Year 2 parents and children explored where, what and how children read. They interviewed each other and presented their findings to the class. Parents and children ended the day with a lovely story!
