Chinese New Year 2023

Chinese New Year- The Year of the Rabbit 

 

The children at William Austin Infant School have enjoyed finding out about Chinese New Year. They heard the story of the Chinese Zodiac, and how the 12 animals raced to have the new year named after them. They also found out how people prepare for and celebrate Chinese New Year. Children were then given the opportunity to take part in some craft activities using the lucky colours red and gold, dragon pictures to represent the dragon dance celebrations and rabbit crafts to celebrate 2023 being the year of the rabbit.
