The Big Trunk Trail

Say hello to Hope, our baby elephant sculpture!!

We were proud to take part in Keech Hospice Care's Big Trunk Trail in the Spring and Summer of 2021!!  In September 2020 we focused our fundraising efforts for the academic year in support of this fantastic local charity, and raised a grand total of £1761.37!!

The Big Trunk Trail saw over 30 large and over 30 baby unique and vibrant elephant sculptures bring Luton’s landmarks to life for 13 weeks during the Summer of 2021 with a public art event.  The unique, outdoor art trail was Keech Hospice Care’s way of saying thank you to their amazing community as they celebrate 30 years of care.

A herd of elephants is also known as a ‘memory’ and The Big Trunk Trail brought communities together to remember loved ones while creating fantastic new memories.  The Big Trunk Trail offered a free, interactive, fun day out for families, friends and art lovers and inspired people to become tourists in their own town.

At the end of the event, the large sculptures were auctioned to raise money for Keech Hospice Care to enable it to continue to provide its excellent care to adults and children with life-limiting and terminal illnesses.

Hope, our elephant, has come home to live at our school and will forever be a lasting memory of this special event!
