Science Learning Logs

Children have been learning lots in their Science lessons. Here are some great examples of learning logs linked to the topics that are taught.

Yr 2

In Plants, children have sorted and grouped seeds and bulbs. The process of growth is observed and recorded. Children plant their own seeds and carry out investigations. The conditions under which plants grow is also investigated. Life-cycles are also researched and produced. Children have been recording how to look after a plant and the recording the different stages of growth.

Yr 1

Seasonal Change is one topic children have looked at.  Children explore the four seasons and begin to recognise the signs for each one. Growth is explored by looking at plants and how they grow. Children also identify and name common plants and trees and their structures. The local environment is also explored. Animals are identified and named and put into groups including mammals, reptiles and birds. Children will understand that we are part of the mammals group.
